I’d Know You Anywhere, My Love

I’d Know You Anywhere, My Love

I recently came across the book “I’d Know You Anywhere, My Love” on my child’s book shelf; I’m not sure where we got it, who gave it to us, or how it got there, but no matter! I’m just so glad it did! From the very first time I opened the book I fell in love with the soft illustrations and sing-song verses, I could just picture my son announcing he was going to be a raccoon for the day while wearing his raccoon hoody! This little book resounded so deeply in my heart and my everyday life with my kids that I couldn’t stop thinking about it…So I decided to make it come to life!

Over the course of a week I dreamt up a couple of photo shoots and attempted to bring to life the sweet illustrations I saw on the pages of Nancy Tillman’s book. I ended up posting a six part series on my Instagram page and it was really well received. I had such a blast recreating a few scenes from the book that I had to share my little series here as well.

So without further ado, welcome to my version of “I’d Know You Anywhere, My Love” by Nancy Tillman.

“There are things about you quite unlike any other…things always known by your father or mother. So if you decide to be different one day, no worries…I’d know you anyway.”

“If early one morning, you put on your socks, and declare, “For today, I’m a little red fox!” I’d say, “My, my…that is quite a disguise! But I’d know it was you by the gleam in your eyes.”

“My eyes and my ears and my arms always know…from the top of your head to your tiniest toe. Wild spotted pony? Easy, my sweet. I’d know it was you by the sound of your feet.”

“If you were a bear cub…I’d know by your nose.”

“Ringtail raccoon? You clever tiptoes.”

“I know you by heart, so my heart never misses. I’d even know by your whiskery kisses. Fox or koala, giraffe or raccoon…anything, anywhere under the moon. Whatever it is you imagine to be, I’ll just be so proud you belong to me. I’ll kiss every whisker and smooth every hair…Becasue, child of mine, I’d know you anywhere.”

I hope you enjoyed this little peek into the world of Nancy Tillman and if you don’t have this book yet go buy it! I saw it in the children’s section at my local Target, I’m positive it’s at Barnes and Noble, or you can find it here on Amazon.
